Serge,

   You shouldn't have to paint every 2 years.  But then it depends on 
how much the car is out in the weather (mostly sun) etc.  I'd expect
to get at least 4 yrs from the paint job, if the cracks were repaired
correctly.

Several people use different products,  some of them are:

 1) 3m urethane #8609 and primer 8608
 2) Duramix 4040 Semi Rigid Plastic Repair
 3) Urethane glue that is used to mount the windshields, available at Napa..
 4) Sikaflex 221
