>From an article that i read, there were 5 prototypes built for Bricklin. Of the 5 prototypes the number 3 engine was the big one. It weighed 300lbs. , put out 500hp, 545 ft lbs. of torque, while turning a mere 535 rpm. According to employees of Turner it had bearing problems that they were never able to solve. Lack of financing and this problem apparently caused them to give up........ But wouldn't it have been nice to have one of those bad boys sitting in your engine compartment :o) |
