alternator bracket

While preparing the brick for the road, I was removing all the belts
to replace when I discovered the adjustment bracket for the alternator 
was broken near the lower mounting hole ( opposite the slotted end).
It appears to be a poor design, prone to breakage at that point.
A good weld cured that, but if anyone experiences charging problems,
it is worth a look. Maybe that is why the previous owner had it
sitting?  Back to work on it now, summer is here and I can't wait to 
drive it.  BTW- I got regular car ins. for it through Liberty Mutual for 
$340/yr., with a guaranteed fixed price of what I paid (10k), classic
insurance was half that, but it is very restrictive.
