AMC Rear Sway Bar

The rear sway bar for the Spirit models came out with the 79 Spirit GT and
AMX models only, and was continued for 80 AMX and 80-83 GTs. (The GTs have
an emblem on the front fender, below Spirit. Can also be identified by
black bumpers, trim, and mirrors). The rear sway bar was also used on the
4 wheel drive Eagles as an option-both Concord and Spirit models.

Should be virtually a bolt in swap for a Bricklin. The sway bar bolts to
an adapter plate that fits between the rearend and the shock mount
plate-these shock plates are both AMC and Bricklin items. Two brakets are
bolted to the frame, and the sway bar links attach to the eye hole in the
end of the sway bar and the brackets. The only fabricating needed is the
mounting of the brackets-for AMC, it is just a matter of drilling two
holes, can't say for sure if Bricklin is the same, but with the leaf
spring/torge link setup, I bet it has to be. The 4 wheel drive Eagles may
have longer links, as it sits up higher, but these should be easy to
shorten. Just get the whole setup, and it should be a few hours work.
Find an old AMC dealer (or current Jeep/Eagle) and ask to look at the
microfiche that has a picture of all the parts.
