on April 12, a message was posted advertising a 1975
Bricklin for sale. It read :
Denis Caruana , Wading River , NY 11792-0864
For Sale brick, painted black (originally white), air doors, new
exhaust, new brakes, new interior and seats. Has 42,000 original
miles. 3rd owner (8 years) and he knows the first two owners. Runs great
but no longer of the space or tie. Asking $7,000.
Well, this weekend I took a little trip down to NY to check this
thing out , with intentions to purchase. In hand were the pictures
of the car that he had mailed to me. After ariving and taking the
1st look at the car, I was very very disapointed in the condition
of the car. The body was in very bad condition, cracked everywhere,
rivets through the outside of the door skins, the paint (black) looked
as if it was painted with a brush. After careful examination, I realized
that the car that he had been so kind to mail myself pictures of, was
N O T the car he is selling. The car pictured has no assist struts,
his does. His car was a different color dash, and has a hole cut in
the passenger side with a trip computer installed, not present
in the photographs. Also, the car in the pictures shows black
paint with silver on the bottom and tan color doors on the inside.
His car is ALL black ! Many other differences are there but
too many to discuss. Just a warning to anyone that was considering
this car. If you have also received photos, i would be curious to know.
As the old saying goes, "buyer beware" ! So true !
