You're probably right. I guess the main decision is whether or not to
try and keep the acrylic body. That depends on 1: Can I get a white
passenger door panel (anybody got one)? and 2: Can the chipped corners
and spyder cracks on the hood be repaired and still keep the acrylic
or would I need a new hood?

it doesnt take but a few modifications to become "custom". I am not sure what
the cutoff is but in some car shows 3 differences (aside from wear items)
moves you to the custom class. In your case build that car however you want
to. there will probably be too many changes to stock once it starts to go back
together. Also, i am reading on this list some great ideas on improvements
for handling etc. that will make the car less stock but more fun to drive.
