So if you are having a new Utah title issued like I had to do=2C you have t=
o register it at the time you apply for the title (total >$100).At that tim=
e you need get license plates that ARE NOT personalized. These can be vinta=
ge plates so that you are not subject to semi annual inspection. You will l=
eave the DMV with this set of plates in hand.  However=2C only after your n=
ew title arrives (2-3 weeks in the mail) can you apply for the customized p=
lates. You will need to pay an additional $63 for the customized plates whi=
ch take 4-5 weeks in the mail. (It has been 4 weeks today and I'm still wai=

The vintage application form and search process is online at the DMV websit=
e. You can actually search by choosing special plate type (in this case vin=
tage) and then go through your selections that you are looking for to see i=
f they are available. The vintage plates are now limited to a total of 5 (n=

It's pretty easy.  I recently did my 70BGT.  You don't need a safety or emi=
ssions.  As long as its at least 30 years old.  You technically only suppos=
ed to drive for car shows and club activities.  But how are they going to k=

I think I paid $65 with personalized plates.
BTW=2C this is my first group email since joining the club.  I figured I'd =
