Subject: [Bmcu] Bear lake run
Hello everyone.
Terry and I are going to do a "Raspberry" shake run to Garden City the morn=
ing of Saturday August 6th. This is the last day of "Raspberry Days". We =
are wondering if anyone else would be interested in this run? There are mu=
ltiple things going on Saturday during the festival.
Craft Fair and assorted entertainment (singers, hypnotist, etc...) 10:00 =
am to 6:00 pm.
Rodeo that starts at 7:30 pm - cost for 12 years and older $8.00.
They have fireworks that or over Bear lake at 10:00 pm.
For anyone that has not been to Minnetonka Cave, it is about 13 miles north=
of Garden City to St. Charles canyon, it is a nice 9 mile climb up the c=
anyon for the cars. From the parking lot it is only about 50 yards to the =
cave entrance. It is open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. Cost is $7.00 16 year=
s and up, Children - 6 to 15 - $5.00. You will want a jacket to wear in t=
he cave, it is around 40 degrees. If you choose to go up the canyon to the=
cave parking lot, bring "wheat thins" or crackers and you can hand feed th=
e Chipmunks.
Bear Lake is as full as I have ever seen! We were planning to drive the ol=
d fruit hiway to Brigham City and then up the canyon to Logan and then up t=
o the Bear lake overlook and then down to Garden City. For the trip back, =
you can go back through Logan/Brigham City, or those that want to go south=
from Garden City to Sage Creek Junction (there was some road construction =
between Garden city and Sage) and then up and over Monte Christo, down to =
Pine view reservoir, and then either down Ogden Canyon, or up and over Trap=
pers loop and the back roads to SLC or down Weber canyon to Hiway 89 and t=
hen south. I made the drive Monday and it was great!
We plan on meeting at the ShopKo on the corner of 12th street and Washingto=
n Blvd. at 9:00 am for a 9:30 departure. If interested please drop an emai=
l.
Thanks
Keri
