Charles,
You will need to have the vehicle inspected and insured before you can
turn-in your paperwork to the Utah DMV.
I don't know about the miles vs km's on the odometer, can't be too important
on a vehicle that old, but have always found the folks at the local license
plate office very helpful in these matters.
Look forward to seeing you on the road soon!

Subject: [Bmcu] Registering an imported vehicle?
Hello All, Is there anyone in the group with experience of registering an
imported vehicle in Utah? I would appreciate your help.
I have a 1980 Land Rover, a CKD built in Australia; I have finally been able
to obtain the 7501 entry summary, so are now looking to get her on the road.
My first question is do I just convert the odometer reading from km's to
miles for entry on the forms?
Do I just get all the form filled in, get the VIN verified and submit the
forms, or am I missing any steps?
Any advise would be appreciated!
Thanks
Charles
