Gary,
Welcome to the BMCU! Be sure to register (it's free) so you can get all the
current news and updates. In Utah the emissions vary from county to county,
some counties do not require emission testing. I've CC'd this message to our
newsgroup where there are numerous folks who should be able to give you the
correct numbers.
The first question of course will be where will you be moving to? That will
narrow it down.
We have a fairly large Spitfire community here as well as a small group that
are registered will NASS (North American Spitfire Squadron). So hopefully we
can get you going in the right direction.
Looking forward to seeing you and your wife!
Mitch D. Johnson

Subject: Moving to Utah
Mitch,
My name is Gary Heaton. My wife, Kjestina, and I will be moving to the
Salt Lake area in the next few weeks. We currently have a 79 Spitfire
which is being brought back to daily driving condition. My wife is
expecting a 1976 Spitfire soon after or maybe slightly before the 79.
One of the questions and things that British Auto Works would like to
know is the emission standards so they can be made ready for Utah. We
look forward to attending functions with British Motor Club of Utah as a
way to help make new friends with a common interest in a state where we
know no one.
Thanks for your help,
Gary
