Memorial Day Run 2006 - New York Tokyo MOAB

Apparently Moab Utah is a popular place over Memorial Day. The last rooms
available at the down-town Best Western Greenwell Inn have been reserved on
our personal VISA card for the nights of May 27 and 28. The holiday rates
are $144.00 a night. Ten rooms are available on a first come first serve
basis by calling Jon or Susan Hermance at 801-583-5846 by April 30, 2006.
We will give you a room confirmation number and the phone number of the
motel so you can transfer the charges from our card to yours. You are
welcome to try and find your own more reasonably priced rooms in Moab. If
you find some, please let us know so we can pass the information on to
others.

Participating BMCUers will meet at the Hogle Zoo parking lot at 8:00
Saturday morning May 27. We will collect and distribute cell phone numbers
and try to leave around 8:30. The route is currently planned to be East
Canyon to Hwy 65. South on 65 to I-80 and east to Silver Creek Jct. At
Silver Creek Jct. we will take Hwy 40/189 south through Heber past
Strawberry reservoir to Duchesne. From Duchesne we will take Hwy
191 south through Price to Green River. From Green River there will be a
short stretch of I-70 east to Crescent Jct. where we will turn south on Hwy
163/191 to Moab. The distance is approximately 270 miles.
Sunday there will be a group going into Arches National Park for sure and
probably folks heading to other Dead Horse Point type areas of interest.
The return trip on Monday will be along the same route, however there will
be the "freeway option" for any who prefer traveling more quickly. Any
questions, concerns or suggestions may be communicated to
jonathan_hermance@atk.com or 801-583-5846. - Jon Hermance
