Seems to me that whoever the wholesale engine supplier was prior to the car leaving the factory would be irrelevant. If it's sold by Lotus in a Lotus car, it's a Lotus engine. And the SM rules would allow you to put any Lotus engine in any Lotus car. This means that you could put the new Lotusized Celica engine in your old Lotus, but not some Ford engine that was never put into a Lotus at the factory. Does that make sense?
