I read John's post a number of times. I don't see how you can read it in any
way other than bashing Jim McKamey and the SEB. The PAC, including Jim
McKamey (who was the PAC Chair when I was SEB liaison to the PAC), work very
hard
and give an incredible amount of thought to their proposals and
recommendations. The SEB does the same. The SEB and all of its subcommittees
are
intelligent, hard working, thoughtful individuals who have the sport's best
interest in
mind.
John's agenda is a tired old dog. At some point in time you have to realize
when you're in a very small minority and that your car isn't going to run in
DP at 890 lbs. and that those who won't let it do so aren't persecuting you.
It's just the way it is. And constantly slinging mud at all the people who run
this sport is like the old poster of the little mouse flipping off the eagle
who is swooping down to make him a lunch snack. It's called "Last great act
of defiance" or something like that.
If John didn't mean what I read into his post, then I would suggest that
calling SEB decisions a "fairy tale" is a strong statement for whatever he did
mean.
I'm the most open minded person you'll ever meet, Pat. I'd suggest that John
is the one who is closed minded...
