You can get the suspension to work. They are continually revising the
geometry and setup...can do IRS as well as a couple of different rear
setups...
Standard Roadster is 1985# dry and 2145# wet...that's without carbon fiber
components or "optimizing" the car for weight reduction (like taking off the
windshield)...(carbon fiber saves 40# in the body (70# V. 110#)...although
even the standard 110# FFR body isn't very heavy)...sounds like you'd have
to ballast the Cobra to meet the minimum weight...that's a lot less
expensive than taking weight off!
FF Roadster is .8 longer wheel base than a Miata, 1.3" wider track front and
rear...from what I see in the "rule" book is allowed 10" wide wheels (v. 7"
for the Miata) or 12" if you want to add 50# to the minimum weight
allowed...weight bias 48% front 52% rear, yes just like a mid-engine car...
So...sounds like the Miata is going to be competitive against that in AP
right?
Don't think so...not if I built and prepared both of them...
