Tonight the steering committee enacted penalties against
shirkers -- those receiving Did Not Work (DNW) status at
more than one event. Here is the added text in the supps::
"Any entrant who receives more than one DNW finishing position in a calendar
year (including Championship Series, Slush Series, and any special events
during that calendar year) will forfeit all points and/or trophies earned
during that year, and will be disqualified indefinitely from entering any
subsequent SFR Solo II events.
"Disqualification may be appealed with a written explanation presented in
person at a regularly scheduled meeting of the SFR Solo II Steering
Committee."

In addition:
A "Hall of Shame" will be added to the website showing all DNW folks,
and this list will be used to disqualify shirkers. DNWs from the beginning
of 2003
will be recorded. Removal will only be by appeal to the steering committee.
Also, event chairs will police workers on course by checking in the middle
of run groups that those signed off to work are actually working. This will
be done at random times at various events. Those not working will
be marked DNW.
