Just so you can be prepared for Sunday...
The Steering Committee voted to change the way
Novice Classes are done this year. I left my notebook
at the room : -{ but here's what I remember -- it's close.
We will run things about the same, except that instead of
Novice 1, Novice 2, ... Novices will run and be awarded
trophies by SCCA Open Class. That is, there will be a
BS-N trophy next year, there will be a STS-N trophy, etc.
There will no longer be Indexed competition -- you
win by actual time against cars in your own class.
As before, CSP-N will run in the same run group as
CSP, etc.
Another change is that there will no longer be any
Prepared or Modified Novice classes -- Novices
wanting to run those category cars must run either in
open classes, OSP-N, or other Novice classes
where their cars are legal.
There are no Ladies Novice classes -- Ladies can
run with other novices, or with other Ladies, or in the Open
classes.
For Slush Series the Committee will consider
eliminating the street tire only rule for Novice Classes,
but for now, Novices must run street tires as before.
All the other rules (must run half the events, etc)
still apply in Novice classes.
Oh, and by the way, Round I points may be delayed
while I figure out how to present these new classes...
There is more news, but I'll retrieve my clipboard
first ; -)
