I like Ed's theory. Quick test is to start it cold in the morning and crank
the wheel to full lock a few times in each direction while barely rolling
then drive. No pull and Ed is right.
Tire theory would be possible start of tread separation. When the temp goes
up it stops the squirm which otherwise causes drag. Swap wheels side/side to
see.
