"> Did poor Colin do something to those folks or what?

His early cars and their derivatives have won between
1 and 5 Solo2 National Titles for each of the last 30 years.
This generated so much sustained complaining about rare
cars dominating classes that no one dared classify a
modern Lotus in a class it could win."

Statistics presented in an abstract manner can possibly ignore the
realities of a marque's win record. As I open the Solo II rule book, I
count 183 Solo II class wins by Chevrolet products in the past 30 years.
Obviously this is grounds for barring the marque and/or adding a 33% weight
penalty to each. <G>
The count includes mostly Corvettes but there were a lot of
Camaros, too, and at least three by Corvairs, and one by a Cosworth Vega.
FWIW: The Corvair has had its weight REDUCED in C Prepared for
2002. And said Corvair's owner has now departed from the Prepared Autocross
Committee as he's been elected, again, to the SCCA's National Board of
Directors. Look for good things from Corvair in 2002.

If I miscounted I'm sure you'll let me know. <G>
