You are very welcome...I actually have a lot of fondness for those folks as
they saved my birthday a couple of years ago...and NO, I'm not telling which
one that was ;)!

The first time I autocrossed I fell in love completely! My car was totally
stock, including the factory tires. Shortly after I thrashed/chunked the
street tires completely, a Bay Area DSM club member offered up a set of used
rims and R1's for sale. I still have and use the rims...They must weigh about
50 pounds a pop and are butt ugly. I call them my "Mad Max" rims.
I was so
excited! I couldn't afford new tires and here was my opportunity to check out
"race rubber"!

My birthday was coming up and what I wanted to do more than anything else on
my birthday was to ax the car with the almost bald R1's. I was so psyched!!!
The day before the ax, I brought the wheels and tires to wheel works to have
them mounted. They took a look at them and told me that they were so
hopelessly bent out of shape that they didn't think that they could be repaired
and refused to mount them. I'm embarassed to say that as hard as I tried, I
couldn't stop the tears from running down my face! I was SO disappointed! The
poor guy behind the counter looked like he felt worse than I did!

My BF at the time encouraged me to never say die, and a thorough search of
the yellow pages brought up Rite Way. They straightened my rims and mounted
and balanced my crappy tires for a ridiculously low price. They were soooo
nice and honest and totally saved my Bday! ( I think that they felt sorry for
me for having made such a poor investment ;)

Of course, the next day, my birthday, on the way to the autocross in Sacto,
I got a nail in my tire! OMG!!!! It's a good thing that I have something
known as "dogged persistence"!!! Stopped at some tiny run down gas station and
they plugged the tire. Got there a bit late but autocrossed on bald race tires
and had such a totally excellent time!

This is a story that my now ex BF (and best friend) laughs about all the
time. He loves to tell anybody who will listen how I cried when I thought that
I wouldn't be able to autocross on my birthday. Geeezzzz...Yeah, and we are
STILL best friends...go figure ;-)

Anyway, no they haven't paid me for this...
Debbie

i have no vibration up to 110mph on my other set of rims, so hopefully my
vibration problem will be solved now.
