If you ask them for a part for a kit car, do they start running into each
other, like a special sandwhich order at McDonald's?
For brake rotors, I've had luck with VW repair shops (Bug Doctor,
Pleasanton), and automotive machine shops (Elbie4s, Dublin). Paid $15 each.
Elbie's has a weird schedule that doesn't work for anyone working in the Bay
Area. However, Monument Auto Parts has a free service where they will take
your parts, have Elbie's pick them up, do the work, drop them off, and then
you can pick them up later at Monument, which is open late. There's a
Monument in Pleasanton, Livermore, San Ramon, and a few others.
