Thanks for the info on the oil & filters.
The utility of synth oil depends on who you ask. It seems to be
an especially religious issue with motorcyclists. I owned several
Japanese air-cooled high-RPM motorbikes from the 1970s to the
1990s and I've been a believer in quality oils ever since I saw
that they really did make the engines last longer. However, I see
your point as modern car engines run cooler and don't rev as
high, so it may make less of a difference. I don't put a lot of
miles on the Roadster but when I do drive it I really exercise
it. So my primary reason in using synth oil is extended engine
life; I probably won't notice an extra pony or two of output.
The supercharger will have the opposite effect -- reduced engine
life. And since the car is already scary-fast, the last thing it
needs is even more horsepower -- especially at the cost of
reduced reliability and engine life, and a violated warranty. And
while some like the sound of a blower, I think it impairs the
beautiful resonant sound of the engine.

It doesn't matter who votes, it only matters who counts the
votes.
