I thought "click and clack the tappet brothers" owned
the rights to the black-tape over the light solution
:-)

I bought a BMW last summer (GS beckons!!!), and
straight off the lot the engine emissions warning
light came on. They told me to ignore it, but it took
two dealer visits to extinguish the light - maybe they
used tape, I'll have to check :-) . Since then, zero
problems. The silver lining was that I had a Z3 for a
week as a loaner.
