On a Honda, what would cause a slightly higer reading of Hydro Carbons
(HC) at idle if it's fine at 2500? ANd CO were fine at both? And all
other systems are fine...
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Is it carbureted? If it is, then the carb base gasket (Honda calls it a
carb insulator) is not sealing. This is due to age of the rubber and just
needs to be replaced. Has happened to my 85 Honda CRX twice; high HC at
idle but everything else is fine. Once I replaced the carb insulator,
passes with flying colors.
