im no expert on different tires, but i do know that until you get fast and
consistent, you will notice no effective difference between kumhos and
hoosiers. driver skill totally overwhelms little things like that until you
get to a fairly high level of skill (like national champ level)
i say save your money and drive as much as you can for a year or so on
whatever r-tires you find convenient. tires will net you tenths at best,
driving skill will net you whole seconds yet.
BTW- i recommend heat cycling the kumhos- NOT at an autox- you want 100
continuous and gentle freeway miles with no scrubbing, then 48 hours rest off
the car before an autox.
