I was web-surfing a bit tonight and came upon "The Finish Line,
December 2004 The Official Newsletter of the Old Dominion Region of
the Sports Car Club of America"
And there I found " A Visit from Racer Nicholas By Phil Ethier"
I don't recall being asked to use this. In fact, I didn't write it.
I think it is from an old Road And Track, and I hoped that it was in
the public domain. What I DID write is the extra verse, which "The
Finish Line" printed in italics:
This poem's so old, you must understand,
"Road & Track" had not yet started their ampersand.
To patch up the meter for the jolly old elf,
I tweaked it a bit, in spite of myself.
