Hello,
The websight autox4u.com is used by autocrossers here in the Northeast to
find local events. Is the aim of your event to have a predominance of vintage
type cars running the time trial and/or autocross? Your event might get
oversubscribed by late model cars if autox4u gives notice. Giving priority to
older
cars might give your event more historical interest but this might upset the
current car owners who would love a chance run a street circuit. There was a
thread a while back on one of the more popular autocross lists,
(autox@autox.team.net or evolution-discussions@yahoogroups.com) telling story
after story
about the old days of street circuit time trials before they pretty much
disappeared. People drove hundreds of miles to run those street circuits.
Your
information came via the emod list which only a fraction of the autocrossers
subscribe to compared to the lists mentioned above. It appears your event last
year might have been under-advertized and putting your event on the Internet
could have the opposite effect if your priority is vintage racers. I see a
safety
issue with your street course if SCCA Solo 2 precautions aren't observed.
Rich Wayne would be an excellent choice to help with that again if need be.
If
there is any way I could help with your event, please let me know. Please
save me a spot in your street and autocross events when reservations open. It
appears metropca is running at Nassau Colliseum that weekend, where are you
running the autocross?
