Howdy,
We've got a JACircuits timer w/the laser retroreflective photohead setup
(the standard setup I think).
We've got four timing heads, but two of them act pretty flakey. The
symptom is this... They'll emit a beam, and seem to line up (red & green
leds both come on), but the timing box reports them being out of line.
Frankly, we'd rather just throw money at the problem, but JACircuits is
apparently out of stock on these heads until August or something.
Does anyone have any troubleshooting information for these heads? When
you take the rain/sun shield off, the photohead has a plastic screw on the
top... What's that do? Anyone know the manufacturer and model/part # of
the heads so that I could get a data sheet to see what voltages are
supposed to be where, etc. etc.?
At this point, If someone had an option for an industrial laser, I'd
probably use it. :-) I don't understand why we can't have something
that'll shoot a beam 1000' and work reliably all the time in any
weather...
Related to this... Anyone have any specs on the proper resistance range
for the cables? I'd like to find a way to check cable/connector/etc.
condition _prior_ to running a cable out to a light the morning (or, when
stuff breaks, the afternoon) of an event...
