I would imagine that it should be ok for a local club to call a level 2, 3,
or 4 TT a time attack, or to use the words somewhere in the description of
the event. I'll bet that the national office would still like us to use the
official designation for the event, but should have no objection to using
other descriptive words, as well.
Clocks are optional for level 1 events, and posting of times before the
conclusion of the event is discouraged, so the term time attack would
probably be inappropriate for a PDE. However, we can use descriptions such
as track day and driver's education.
