I really object to those who don't participate in ProSolo being so willing
to throw out the baby because he has to sit in sh** in the bath water!
People, the
answer is NOT to throw away the program because it's not currently turning a
profit, that is NOT the fault of the program but the FAULT OF THE
MANAGEMENT! The business model for PS had been to make it impossible for it
to pay it's own way by limiting participation, not seeking sponsorships or
quality venues and running some of the most shamefully poorly operated
events. Not to mention reducing the available series events to only 6
(needing 3 for points) and putting them in the 4 corners of the country.
Here in the east we have to travel a total of 3700 miles to attend the only
3 events available to us, NOT counting the Finale, an additinal 2200 miles.
At (a generous) 20 MPG average thats 400.00 in gas alone not counting food,
hotels, tires, lost income and equipment costs, yet we still go. The
competitors are making a major commitment to the program that is NOT being
met with the same commitment by the home office. There is ONLY one reason
the PS and solo2 program is not profitable much less breaking even: THE
PEOPLE IN TOPEKA ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOBS! Start campaigning to throw out
what REALLY stinks!
