The course length was approximately 30 seconds, fairly wide and mostly
2nd gear. The first elimination round set down ten drivers, the
second round took out another 7 drivers, leaving 3 drivers.
After the first elimination round it was Priebe, Daddio, McCrispin,
King, and Brolliar in the top 5 spots. The time range was 122.143 to
123.575, taking the best run in 4 cars ) 2 runs per car.
The semi was Priebe (90.413), McCrispin (90.931), and Daddio (91.032)
decided in 3 cars, 2 runs each.
The final runs were in the opposite direction of the previous
competition. Each driver got 2 runs each (only the best counted) in a
Mazda 3(auto/lowered) , Mazda 6(auto/stock), Miata (Mazdaspeed) , and an
RX8 (6 spd).
The final finishing order was Daddio, Priebe, and McCrispin.
Congratulations to all who made the Finale and especially Mark Daddio
for his second victory.
The 15 city qualifiers and 5 category winners were from a total field of
approximately 30,000 entrants in 2004. Regardless of how they finished
in the Finale, each should be proud of their accomplishment in the 2004
Mazda Rev It Up competition.
