Let me say this from Evolution's standpoiint-everything is worthwhile
for us to do. We go every inch we can and give discounts every inch
we can to make something work for a school. But when you have not
even half a school with paid entries and others who have not committed
finacially-to go ahead and make those fincial committments on the
"hopes" you get enough to just cover expenses is a very risky thought.
And the sooner you make the cancelation, the more chance to not get
charge and get all money invested so far back.
We would need 2 instructors, a timer, lot rent, insurance, lunch for
all of Saturday to happen and the 3-4 entries paid does not come to
cover all those expenses. We have made decisions to have some schools
half size and possibly get to the break even point, but this was not
even that case.
Many clubs throughout the country have had many years of all of our
schools-many taking phase 1, 2, and then when 3 , Dial in, or the
Challenge schools is offered they do not feel ready to go into that
yet. Many go back to phase 1 again. I have had some students take
more than 4 schools in a year and feel they still need work with
those. It usually takes about 3-4 years of a person racing/schools
before the thought of going into this other evewn feels possible for
them. We average a Challenge school (which just started 2 years ago)
about 4-5 times a year all over the country in places we have had been
going to for average of 5 years now. That is because all of those
people have been doing a school or two a year and racing to get the
experience they feel they want to have going into it.
The is school is just starting to become popular and word is spreading
how fun and challenging it is. It takes a while. Possibly the last
weekend to come of the year is the best as many will have taken 1-2
different phases.
