The successor events, however, *are* SCCA events, run by Nebraska Region
in 2003 and scheduled in 2004, according to SCCA rules -- and on an
airport apron, not the city's downtown streets.
The accident was a sad end to what was really a fun event. Its success,
despite the accident, can be seen in the town's desire to continue it in
some way and Nebraska Region's being able to take it over and do so.

The worst thing about the Nebraska Region SCCA flavor of the event in
Hastings is that the whole town comes out to watch and puts on HUGE
evening events. They are just plain happy to see us there. Natz-style
evening entertainment but on a smaller scale. On Saturday they had a
street dance and car show for us???
Nice facilities last year, good safety, though the lack of SSS's was a
problem for the three that were there. If you've got an SSS we could use
you there.
