DOT Approval Question

Has anyone else heard a rumor that the Kumho V710 tire has not passed the DOT 
test requirements?  

I have heard this from more than one person and would like to kill this ugly 
rumor if not true.  Anyone know about this? Hopefully, not the case.  
Competition between tire manufactures is good for all of us.
