Thanks, Rocky
It's obvious that you and I are on the same page here.
I've won a lot of "awards" during my 30+ years in broadcast journalism.
I'm proud to say that none of them have been for digging up "dirt" on
other people. If I should happen to find "dirt," I'll report it in a
heartbeat -- after I've verified it through two independent sources and
given the subject of that "dirt" the opportunity to reply. But I don't
go around looking for it.
I don't want this to sound like bragging, because it's not. However,
I've earned the reputation of being the most trusted reporter in
Shreveport because of my fairness and objectivity. People tell me
things they wouldn't tell other reporters because they know I'm not on a
witch hunt.
I take that same approach to the way I write and edit the Safety Belt
and the way I handle my writing assignments for SportsCar and NAP at
Nationals.
Happy Holidays to all
