Wow, take a look at Katie Elder's raw times. 54.168, 54.064 and
54.034. You can't get much more consistent than that.
That said, Kathy Fitzpatrick ripped off a killer run for her second
try. But even her third run would have had her in first.
Much the same in CS. Leader Steve Telehowski coned a fast first run
that would have led the class, backed off a hair to post a solid time
his second run, then virtually duplicated the first run, minus the
cone, to post his best (a raw time improvement of 18 thousandths over
his first run.) But even his second run would have held the lead for
the day. 2nd through 6th are separated by .289, but Steve's .762 lead
is going to take a lot of work to overcome. Top six are all Miata's,
and only Joe Tharpe in second isn't a second driver. 44 cars, all
either Miata's or Toyota MR2s.
Good competition there.
