I believe the original rules had a claimer clause that if you wouldn't sell
for 200$ then you were disqualified. You could run and have fun but not
win. I didn't look at the latest rules. I know that some of the cars have
changed hands. I also have a 200$ car on jack stands on my patio. I bought
a BMW 325 in Florida for $132.50 and have sold $400 in parts. eBay has a
BMW v12 engine in a parts car that was "running when parked" that would fit
the engine bay. I was thinking that I could buy five or six parts cars and
part them all to below my original purchase prices, then deliver a monster
machine to the challenge for $0.00. What kind of Update/Backdate problems
would a v12 e30 have? Could I still run DSP? What if I accidentally locked
the hood shut? Would someone protest?
Those of you on the net who know me and my son Andy will be happy to know
that Andy is the proud pappa of Bridget Marie Cost (BMC). Of course, I'm
the proud grandpapa. She was several weeks early and weighed 2 pounds 2
ounces when born last Saturday. We had to miss the Texas Region autocross
at Pennington Field last Sunday, and we may miss a few more autocrosses
before Bridget comes home. She is doing well for being such a tiny thing.
She's 14 inches long and looks a lot like Andy. Keep us in your prayers.
