Here's a copy of an email I just sent Steve Johnson at SCCA:

<quote>I just tried to access the entry lists for the Ft Myers tour and pro
events, and found that they were "only available to registered users of
MYAUTOEVENTS.COM" ! Who are they and why am I being blackmailed into providing
them with personal information so they can make money off it and spam me???
There is no provision in their registration to opt out of them sharing my info
with their "business partners and advertisers". My wife and I have already
sent SCCA 260.00 in entry fees for these 2 events, paid our memberships, pro
solo "licenses" (additional revenue generator with no benefit) and are
blackmailed into purchasing rulebooks and required SCCA decals each year to
run at these events, and therefore IMHO should have free access to all the
information concerning these events without being subjected to additional
email spam and online advertising hell! This is NOT a "SERVICE" I want from
SCCA!
I suggest you drop this "service" immediately, especially now that we have a
choice of nationally sanctioned events, we do not HAVE to follow along like
sheep. SCCA is NOT NASCAR!
I expect an immediate reply.
