In Club Racing, rotaries are allowed to run with or without oil mixed into
the fuel. However, the fuel, as sampled from the car's fuel system
somewhere between the fuel tank and the engine has to meet the same testing
standards as cars running "street" fuel (e.g. Showroom Stock cars, Improved
Touring cars, etc.).
So, if the oil used in your pre-mix contains oxygenating compounds that
bump up the dielectric constant (proportional to the amount of oxygen) of
the test sample or that trigger the reagents, the fuel might still be
non-compliant even if the original fuel was compliant.
I find it interesting that fuel testing has been such a hot issue in Club
Racing, but Solo II doesn't seem to have addressed it yet. The possibility
for exposure to potentially carcinogenic fuel oxygenators exists in Solo as
well as Club Racing.
