Stock used to have its own clause which read essentially the same as what is
now 14.9.B. That went away for '93, and the battery then falls back to
being covered by 13.0 and the "normally expendable parts" allowance. The
Fastracks comment which accompanied that change said:
"This removes the Stock category allowance of battery make, model, and size
changes; batteries will fall under the 'alternate components' allowance of
13.0 and must be of the same type and size, and used in the same location as
the original. The former Stock allowance is moved to Street Prepared."
That may be what someone was thinking of. May '92 Fastracks, page F-23.
