Moving the RX7-tt to A-stock will shut down most C4 Corvette
participation, just like the old days in SS before the Z06s. IMO, let the
RX7s suffer for a change, or they can prep for ASP and still be
competitive. Besides the RX7s are really hard and expensive to maintain
for stock class.
My gut feel is that C4 Vette pilots are wary of prepping for AS with all
the uncertainty about the future of the class. SCCA national hasn't made
it any secret that they are considering moving the Boxster S, regular
Boxster and S2000s into AS in '03. Some who might consider purchasing a
C4 to run in the class probably aren't until the smoke clears. This is a
crying shame, because C4s are cheap, cheap and AS could become the
big-car ES if left alone.
