Boy the info is coming faster now... (their offices are open...)
Here is an update from one of the individuals... The plot thickens! It
sounds like I was too generous with Progressive:
So I have just spoken with someone from progressive.This is the deal,someone
apparently filed a claim last year.Something about spinning out,maybe some
property damage?I don't know who this was however progressive found out this
person was at one of the clubs events at the time.They consider any timed
event to be "racing".I was told that progressive insures somewhere around 25
people who are in cumberland motor club.They are all subject to non renewal.
The solution that was offered was to either remove the vehicle that you
have raced .Or write a letter stating you will no longer race the vehicle in
question,the latter is subject to legal and corporate approval,which sounds
like a lot of red tape.
The woman I spoke with was not impressed that she had to do this.She
stated that she has been to an autocross and understands what it is all
about.I even mentioned that the reason I participated was to learn car
control so that I could hopefully avoid accidents in the future.I will let
you know how this shakes out.Keep your fingers crossed for all of us
though!!!

Thoughts? Well within their rights as underwriters but definetly a decision
not based on logic. Sounds like a simple, sorry anything that occurs during
a timed event isn't covered, please read section xx.cc.xx etc.. would have
sufficed.
I wonder when I'm going to hear from the rest of our members/participants
with Progressive? Please let us know when/if they start going after people
in other states. It wouyld be a logical progression based on what we now
know.
