Hello,

I am putting together a short sidebar for our November issue, describing how
the remaining Solo Nationals participants reacted to the tragic events in
NYC and DC. This is separate from Rocky's piece that details why
participants went home.

It can be as simple as attaching a small American flag to your car antenna
to display during your runs, or a flag at half-mast atop your trailer in the
paddock once we were allowed back on site (or in Solo City). Perhaps you
made a donation, via the phone or Internet, to the American Red Cross or
other relief organizations. Maybe during the downtime on Wednesday or after
you were finished running, you went to donate blood. In what other ways were
you proactive in showing your pride and concern?

Finally, what personal comment do you have regarding the whole tragedy? It
might seem like there is an obvious answer attached; but as with any
human-interest articles, everyone has something unique to say. I would
rather hear what you have to say instead of assuming it myself.

If you would like to contribute, please drop me a line directly at
kdelafuente@racer.com. Also, please feel free to pass this on to Nats
participants who are not on this list and may be interested in commenting.

Thanks very much.
