Pat Washburn stopped in the Twin Cities to say "hi" to a couple of
autocrossers on his way to Topeka.
He surprised Bob Fogt when he arrived, as he was not driving his Audi towing
an open trailer. No, indeed.
Pat is an engineer with a company which makes high-quality cabinets and
fittings for race-car trailers (would naming the company make this a
commercial ad?). The company is having Pat take their demo transporter rig.
This is a big fifth-wheel having a large race-car area, tons of cabinets, an
office/lounge space, some alternate doors and the like. Pat's CM Formula
Ford doesn't fill it, so he is bringing something else special. Pat has
designed for the company an autocrosser's pit cart. Wait until you see
this. Pat will of course be towing it to each course, and thence to
impound, with his Swift. I've seen the little trailers the mod cars use,
and this is the ultimate version thereof, complete with power station.
The company demo rig will be in the vendor area on Tuesday, Wednesday and
part of Thursday. Pat need to start back to Wausau on Thursday because the
demo rig is needed for a drag race elsewhere. If you are at Nationals, stop
by to say "hi" to Pat and check out the details on this rig.
For fans of the now-departed Cow Car, a tribute to it lives on. Not going
to spoil this one. Look at the Swift.
