Rietmeyer/Maloney Porsche 993 in 1996. They did it the first day. Warned
that there would be a protest if they did it day two. they opted not to not
do it day two. Did it provide an advantage? Maybe, maybe not. Certainly
could have been a psyche out. Stacy or Jeff ended up in second. Moi in
forth.

At the 1995 or 96 Nationals a fast AS car showed up early to grid (cool day)
The drivers wrapped the whole bottom of the car in a thermal skirt and
started the car. It ran for 30 mins or so prior to their first run. Some
competitors asked them to cease or be protested. They did but the first run
was very fast.

Pre-heating of tires prior to competition by electrically heated
covers or similar means is prohibited.
I remember past years where people would use towels or purpose made
cardboard/reflextix insulation to warm them before a heat. Are
