As someone who years-ago played with a '77 AMC Hornet (unfortunately long
before I found autocrossing), if the car came with no or very small sway
bar(s), then a front bar will probably help alot. My Hornet rolled over
and pushed badly and the addition of a front bar helped immensely. The car
had so little roll control that obtaining a reasonable amount of bar on the
heavy end was the first step. Later on, I added a rear bar to balance the
car nicely. Nothing like a 4-door auctioned-off plain-white ex-city car to
catch a few sports cars by surprise on some off-ramps and canyon roads! Of
course, now I get to do the same thing with an 11-year-old Escort -
underdogs can be fun! ;^)
