Let's do a bit of simple math to look at this
issue:
6.6" equals 16.764cm. The closest metric
measurements would be 16cm = 6.3", 16.5cm = 6.5",
and 17cm = 6.7"
I'm not sure how Toyota picked 6.6" as the width
of these wheels, but it doesn't look like it has
anything to do with metric measurements. Besides
wheel width (and diameter) are universally
measured in inches. (With the exception of TRX
wheels, but those haven't been used in years.)
So maybe there needs to be an exception for the
MR2 to compete in 6.5" wheels, but nothing to do
with metric sizes.
