A product called Goo Gone, available at home centers and hardware stores, 
 works well and will not harm paint.  I just cleaned up after 50 odd runs 
at Evolution and local event last weekend.

(Not the similar sounding Goof Off which is much stronger.)

Sorry for the repeat, but I have no idea how or where to search archives 
for
this list.  I ignored the original posts regarding how to remove cone marks
because I wasn't having any trouble with them...

Now - I hit more cones at the last event than in all my previous events 
this
year! :(  I now have cone marks all over the car and wheels.  What works?
