I don't get out there that often, but I feel a certain sense of loss here.
I was there for the opening of the first permanent* one. NAP sent me to
cover it. One of our MAC members, restrained behind the velvet rope, was
shocked to see me interviewing an Indy 500 winner. She emailed me later,
asking "how do WE get to talk to the drivers". Thanks, John.
Since NAP has non-exclusive rights to the story, I'll be happy to email it
anybody who cares.
* That word "permanent" sounds a bit ironic now, eh? The reason for it was
that there was a temporary test setup in San Diego before the first
permanent store in Minnesota.
