What are you trying to do here? The very idea of posting a thorough,
well informed, "data-based" post on team.net has got to be some kind of
Internet heresy. Or if not, it should be. Let's get back to
name-calling, "Me too" posts, and long drawn out threads using piles of
bandwidth to discuss why a given single post should/should not have been
made!
For the record, I have a K-Gun police radar, which I used to verify the
speed of my X1/9 in 2nd gear (on the rev limiter, max speed was 52).
Extrapolating from this, last year's Meridian event had speeds in the
high 50's or low 60's for my car (short 3rd gear stretches). At regional
events I seldom broke 50 in that car (again based on K-Gun readings).
This was a Prepared class car that had high corner exit and entry
speeds, although granted not a pile of HP.
The evidence (what little has been brought forward) suggests that the
speeds are well in line. If anyone doubts this, they should get in touch
with me, and I will sell them the K-Gun. Then they can become very
unpopular the way I usually was when I took the thing to events. Most
people are pretty disappointed when they find out how fast they are
really going. Or aren't going.
