I don't want to cast aspersions, here, but I would like to get some
more input.
During my tenure as a Divisional Solo Safety Steward, starting in
1994, I've had to "investigate" three rollovers involving fwd VWs.
Two were Siroccos and one was a GTI. In EACH case it APPEARS that the
driver put gumball tires on the car BEFORE he maxed out the
suspension.
I know that properly setup VWs can make very competent autox and road
race cars. But it would seem, at least to me, that improperly setup
VWs are prone to going turtle. Does anybody out there have any
practical experience with fwd VW setup that you would be willing to
share with me and/or the rest of the list?!? I think it's something
from which we could all benefit.
